Capo Mannu is a promontory located 22 km far from Oristano, Sardinia's west coast, which is the starting point from the north of the Sinis peninsula.
On the promontory is located a beacon. Capo Mannu is well known for the lovers of surfing and windsurfing. The Cape is exposed to the winds of the western quarters, and particularly the mistral. During the storms you can observe waves high several meters. From the perspective of surfing, the cape was discovered in the late '80s by some surfers and windsurfers in the area and now is one of Europe's top destinations for the practice of this sport. Since several years it has become one of the landmarks in Italy for kite surfing on the waves. Since a few years it hosts every year “il Capo del Capo ", a surfing competition of national level.
